BE CAREFUL OF STALE SERIES 66 STUDY MATERIALS! MAKE SURE THAT YOUR STUDY BOOK CONTAINS THE TOPICS THAT NASAA ADDED EFFECTIVE JUNE 2023!

Often a person will send me an email asking if a book purchased before 2024 is still useful to study in preparation for taking the Series 66 exam. My answer is no - NASAA has added a lot of topics to the Series 66 exam in June 2023. If your book or other study material is older than 2024, it probably does not contain important additions. Don't use stale study materials!

Bob Eder treats all of the above added topics in his Study for the Series 66 Exam. Before you go into the Series 66 exam, you should make sure that your
study material likewise covers the above topics.

Here is a sample of Bob Eder's treatment of Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPAC):

Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPAC)                                       II(F)(3)

Here's what the SEC says about SPACs:

"SPAC” stands for special purpose acquisition company, and it is a type of blank check company. SPACs have become a popular vehicle for various transactions, including transitioning a company from a private company to a publicly traded company. Certain market participants believe that, through a SPAC transaction, a private company can become a publicly traded company with more certainty as to pricing and control over deal terms as compared to traditional initial public offerings, or IPOs."

Bob Eder discusses the added topics that NASAA added to Series 66 Test Specifications in his Study for the Series 65 Exam.
